Having worked only from home since March of this year, leaving my abode today to venture out into the world to make the dollars that pays the bills was an experience: by the time I arrived at the bus stop my shirt was soaked; by the time I get off the bus at the interchange it is dry again; by the time the next bus arrives it is wet again and by the time I get to where I am going to do the work that I do it was dry again. Aahhh... the Tropics.

Russell Geoffrey Bassett, 44, appeared in the Victorian County Court facing charges of theft, drug trafficking and inciting a person to kidnap.
He pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Seven drums - about 175kg - of pseudoephedrine, which can be used to make amphetamines, were stolen during a delivery to a pharmaceutical processor in the Melbourne suburb of Croydon in August 2001.
Prosecutor Peter McDermott told the court the former officer was working as a chemical courier at the time of the incident.
