The Georgia Department of Education proposes expungement of the word 'evolution' from their curricula which cover the subject.http://www.gadoe.org/
Of course "evolution" is a meaningless "buzzword" in Georgia.
See: http://www.doe.k12.ga.us/doe/media/04/012804.asp and http://us.cnn.com/2004/EDUCATION/01/30/striking.evolution.ap/index.html
Georgia further proposes, as a result of a Phi Delta Kappa review, that their K-12 curriculum could not be taught in any reasonable depth in less than 23 years, let alone 12. So, they're just going to thin it out a little for the apparently limited children of that state.
See: http://www.doe.k12.ga.us/curriculum/instruction/qcc/curriculum_editorial.asp.
After this assessment of the GADOE K-12 curriculum, I hold out little hope for the Phi Delta Kappa society in Georgia, much less the elementary school students this policy will... umm... benefit.
Signs should be erected along the Georgia state borders- "Welcome to Georgia. Drive safe, talk slow and don't use no big damn words."
*sigh*
